Lisa Ciccone graduated in medieval and humanistic philology at the Catholic University of Milan with Prof. Agostino Sottili and obtained her PhD in the same discipline at the University of Messina (Prof. Vincenzo Fera). In 2013-2015 she was awarded a research grant at the University of Bergamo (Prof. Francesco Lo Monaco and prof. Claudia Villa) for a project on the exegesis of Horace's Ars poetica in manuscripts from the 14th and 15th centuries. From 2018 to 2021, she was a member of the research team led by Prof. Richard Trachsler at the University of Zurich. She collaborates with the University of Pisa on the publication of the VDL (Vocabolario Dantesco Latino).
She has worked in particular on 14th-century Latin poetry and medieval exegesis of the classics. She has published the edition of the Communiter, an anonymous 14th-century commentary on Horace's Ars poetica (Florence, SISMEL-Edizioni del Galluzzo, 2016), and the edition of the commentary on the Metamorphoses from the ms. Vat. Lat. 1479 (Paris, Classiques Garnier 2020).
She is currently working at the University of Zurich for the Seminar für Griechische und Lateinische Philologie (Mittelateinische Philologie) as a scientific collaborator in the project  The Ancient World seen from Medieval Glosses, which involves the edition of Pace da Ferrara’s Commentary on Geoffrey of Vinsauf’s Poetria nova and the creation of a Lexicon glossarum et commentariorum: a corpus of 400 rhetorical and mythological lemmas taken from published and unpublished commentaries on Horace’s Ars poetica and Ovid’s Metamorphoses.
